Women’s Day is a day of international solidarity, and a day for reviewing the strength and organization of women. This day is widely celebrated throughout the world. It is the day to revive the struggle of women to get their social, economic, cultural and political rights in different domains. It is the day to reaffirm women’s solidarity in the struggle for peace. It is the time to show what women have achieved through centuries. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

8th March is a global day which provides a useful opportunity to reinforce the fact that everyone has a role to play in forging a more gender balanced world.  This day was first time celebrated in 1911 supported by over 1 million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland.

Today it is a high time to commemorate not only the legendary women who marked their foot prints on the map of history but also it is the day to make high determination to tow their lines. The women empowerment and rise of women does not mean the fall of men. The society will prosper when everyone shall play a role in forging gender equality.

History evinces the matchless role of women who contributed towards the betterment in society, like Hazrat Khadija (R.A), Hazrat Ayesha (R.A), Hazrat Maryam (R.A), Marie Curie, Mother Teresa and many other eminent women who changed the course of history by their diligence and industriousness to make the crowds as a nation. They suffered themselves but set the example for the rest of world.

The existence of a woman is an axis of this universe. From birth to death, she has been engaged in multiple guises to make this world more beautiful and the relationships more exquisite.  She is the binding force. The time has proved that the life of a woman is the regulation of the life cycle.

There are multiple viewpoints that exist in our society about gender equity and women’s inclusion which play a central role both as a litmus test and as an active variable shaping a more democratic, stabilized and developed society. The studies and researches stated that incorporating women in the nation-building process as early on as possible will help make these improvements happen sooner. Women voted, signed petitions, ran for public office, outspoken critics of corruption and the influence of warlords, served as provincial governors and ministers and joined the police and armed forces etc., even in highly conservative provinces. Another report  of RAND National Security Research Division says that a society that shows greater concern for the rights of the weaker strata of its society — including women — will be less likely to initiate violence, while economic and social development are strongly elevated when women enter the marketplace. So it is quite clear that the nation building is depended on the integration of women power. Whereas another group of policymakers and development agencies are afraid that pursuing a stronger role for women in nation-building “too soon” will lead to instability and unpredictability.

According to the study, nation builders should work to settle down traditional values with progressive ideas involving women’s participation in society. To enhance the results of nation-building, the study further recommends that nations should place a greater stress on the broader concept of human security from the earliest phase of nation-building efforts. In addition, leaders should establish governance based on principles of equity and consistent rule of law, and should include women in the earliest economic reconstruction activities. To support this viewpoint, the education of women is mandatory in nation building; there’s a saying that educating a woman is like educating a family. With a fast changing world and distinct challenges, women have acquired a special position for themselves in the society. They are not only self-employed but also self-reliant too. The education of the women has an important role to play in the nations building; therefore, there is a saying that educating a woman is like educating a family. With the fast changing world and rapidly changing times, women have acquired a distinct position for themselves in the society. There has been an increase in the number of women, who are educated, knowledgeable, trained and aware. Today, women have developed considerable awareness amongst themselves to be self-employed and self-reliant. Within the society, now women have stepped out from the limitations of their homes and have engraved a position for themselves in various fields. Their contribution, role and sacrifices cannot be falsified in the society being stepping stone in nation-building.
