The planet that rules our reasoning and intellect is Mercury. It represents our communication skills, logical thinking, practicality, speech and decision making power.
Mercury’s placement in our birth chart can reveal our style of communication, the way we express ourselves, the way our mind works, the way we talk and communicate with others in general.
IMRAN KHAN
In Imran Khan’s birth chart, Mercury is in its exaltation sign Virgo and thus in its highest dignity. This can be a double-edged sword, as it is quite difficult to tame such powerful Mercury.
Person who has Mercury in Virgo is usually highly intelligent and has formidable brainpower. This natal placement of mercury indicates a perfectionist with a clear, logical, and analytical mind with an aptitude for work that requires meticulous attention to detail and efficient organization. It’s not only due to the combination of sharp intellect and earthy common sense, but an almost natural ability for spotting little details most people miss. This hawk-eyed ability to hone in on every little thing makes such person very critical of everything and everyone, including himself. Such individual has high expectations of others and become very disappointed when they don’t live up to these expectations. He can come across as harsh and judgmental when this happens. Knowledge, ideas, and theories don’t really interest such person unless they are useful in a practical and tangible way. The person loves to analyze, measure, and dissect everything.
As Virgo is analytical and practical sign but overly critical of self and others, hence Mercury placed in the sign of Virgo can make a person cynical, or even sarcastic. Such person won’t think twice about criticizing someone without regard to how it may hurt the other person’s feelings.
But in Imran Khan’s natal chart Mercury is with Saturn and Sun, two malefic planets. He might have had difficulty in expressing himself publicly in early age because this conjunction can create problems in self-expression due to Saturn’s basic nature of misery-giver and slow moving tendency. Such individual does not like to communicate much and likes to keep quiet in early age. But when he communicates, he only communicates about what is real. He never gossips.
Saturn being lord of his 3rd house of self efforts gives lots of firmness in his character and abandon of consistency to keep working smartly day-night to reach goal.
BILAWAL BHUTTO
In Bilawal Bhutto’s birth chart Mercury is placed in Libra sign. In Astrology, we say this positioning is very positive because Libra has a good sense of justice and applies it in everything they say. Libra loves to build bridges and find ways to overcome the differences. It knows that there is more than one side to any situation, and wants to harmonize opposing points of view. This placement of Mercury makes a person naturally skilled in negotiating and finding suitable conditions for all parties in agreement.
Mercury in Libra bestows a pleasant and sweet style of communication to the native. Such person posses a beautiful & delicate tone in his speech and never wants to come across as arrogant in conversation. Diplomacy takes center stage with this placement of Mercury. These people always attempt to approach every situation in a fair-minded and balanced way, hence such person has the tendency to be a little too nice in his approach and behavior and to keep the matters straight, he particularly avoids the use of strong words to others even during the most explosive situations.

As we can see that the communication style of two national leaders of our country depends a lot, if not solely, on Mercury’s placement in their respective charts .This can give an indication to us that if one planet can impact or solely rule one important area of our life then we can imagine that how much accumulated impact these planets are going to have on our entire life.
